History
Royal Horseguards Hotel is set within Whitehall Court, which was originally constructed in 1884 as luxury apartments by Jabez Balfour. However the construction was the center of a fraudulent pyramid scheme by Balfour. The building has changed hands many times including being used by MI5 and MI6 during both world wars.
The hotel itself was opened in 1971 and was expanded in 1985. Due to the hotels connections with the Blues and Royals and the Household Cavalry the hotel supports the forces charity “Help for Heroes”.
Guoman Hotels took over the hotel in 2008 and after a major refurbishment the hotel has become the flagship for Guoman hotels.
